CRIMINAL INVESTIGATIONS DIVISION
Criminal Investigations Division

The Levy County Sheriff's Office Criminal Investigations Division represents years of experience and service. Captain Danny Riffle, a long time veteran of the Sheriff's Department, leads the division. The Criminal Investigations Division is not only charged with the everyday follow-up of burglaries, robberies, thefts, etc., but is also required to investigate any unusual, unique or important crime or situation that would immediately effect the Citizens of Levy County, including accidental deaths, plane crashes, etc.

Particular expertise in specific area includes Child abuse, Homicide investigation, Vehicle Theft, Burglary/Robbery, Computer Crime and other theft investigations. This unit is also charged with investigating all types of narcotics situations including street situations to long-term investigations and is the investigative body that is charged with the task of investigating major crimes. The Crime Scene Unit also falls under the direction of the division.

The Criminal Investigation Division at the Levy County Sheriff's Office has been developed to not only do follow up investigations, but to also maintain a readiness and willingness to attack any investigative need as they should arise in Levy County. Associations with ROCIC - Regional Organized Crime Information Center - and the Florida Intelligence Unit enables Levy County Sheriff's Office Criminal Investigation Unit to be up to date at the cutting edge of criminal activity in the State of Florida and Levy County.
