Dive Team Can you imagine fighting crime from seventy-five feet under the water's surface? How about swimming through black water so dark that an underwater flashlight does not even help you see your hands right in front of you? May be recovering evidence from a contaminated pond or maybe an underwater cavern. Well, that is exactly what the members of the Dive Team do on a regular basis.
Since 1995, the team has been climbing into over fifty pounds of gear and submerging into some very dangerous waters to locate important evidence and missing persons. The Dive Team routinely goes on search and rescue missions for our office and other agencies using the latest in recovery, safety, and metal detection equipment such as a proton magnetometer. They responded to over 10 incidents a year. Dive Team members train frequently both within the department and with other agencies. Should you have any questions please contact at 352-486-5111.
